Growing up, I always thought my sister was extremely careful with money. She rarely spent on things that seemed unnecessary and preferred a simple lifestyle. While others enjoyed buying large gifts or making grand gestures, she believed in keeping things practical.
Because of this, many people misunderstood her—including me.
When I got married, my sister gave me a small envelope containing a gift card. I thanked her and smiled politely, but I have to admit I felt a little disappointed. From someone so close to me, I had expected something more memorable. I assumed she simply wasn’t the type of person who cared much about giving gifts.
After the wedding, life quickly became busy. My spouse and I focused on building our new life together, adjusting to daily responsibilities and routines. The gift card my sister gave us ended up tucked away in a drawer along with other wedding cards, mostly forgotten.
