Bush Family Celebrates Arrival of Grandson Honoring Family Legacy

Former President George W. Bush is celebrating a joyful family milestone with the arrival of his new grandson! At 78 years old, Bush shared the heartwarming news on social media, congratulating his daughter Barbara Pierce Bush and her husband, Craig Coyne, on the birth of their second child.

The couple, already parents to their two-year-old daughter Cora Georgia, welcomed their son, Edward Finn, on August 4. Bush posted a touching photo on Instagram showing Barbara and Craig holding their newborn in a hospital bed, both radiating happiness. In the caption, Bush wrote, “Welcome to the world, Edward Finn Coyne. @laurawbush and I are thrilled to be grandparents again, blessed with this new arrival on August 4, lovingly named in honor of his great-grandfathers. Congratulations to Barbara, Craig, and big sister Cora Georgia.”

The exciting news was first shared by Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, who posted a series of sweet photos on August 5. As a co-anchor on the Today show, Jenna couldn’t hide her excitement about becoming an aunt again, sharing snapshots of her holding and feeding her nephew. Her Instagram caption read, “My sister had a little mister, and I’m completely smitten with Edward Finn! ❤️💗👼.”

While specific birth details weren’t disclosed, the photos show the family’s joy. The images also hint that Barbara may have given birth at NYU Langone Health in New York City, as Edward is seen wearing a hospital hat from the facility.

The Bush family has always expressed immense pride and joy in becoming grandparents. When Barbara and Craig’s first child, Cora, was born, the former president and first lady shared their excitement in a statement. “We are overjoyed to welcome our new granddaughter,” they announced at the time. Cora was born in Maine near the family’s home, where Barbara and Craig were married.

The arrival of Edward Finn is another cherished chapter for the Bush family, marking a continuation of the legacy that holds deep meaning across generations.
