The White House has released an official statement following news that President Donald Trump was taken to the hospital for a scheduled medical appointment.

According to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the 79-year-old President visited the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday morning, October 10. The visit included both a meeting with military personnel and a routine medical checkup, described as part of his standard health monitoring.

Leavitt clarified that the visit was pre-planned and emphasized that the President remains in good spirits. “On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops. While there, he will stop by for his routine yearly checkup. He will then return to the White House,” she said in the statement.

The Press Secretary also noted that the President is considering a future trip to the Middle East, underscoring that his schedule remains active and unchanged.

While the White House described the hospital visit as a “yearly checkup,” some observers noted that the President had previously undergone an annual physical just six months earlier.

During the summer, public discussions about the President’s health surfaced after he was seen with slight bruising on his hands and minor swelling around his ankles. In July, medical professionals confirmed that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common and generally mild condition that affects blood flow in the legs. According to experts, it is especially prevalent among adults over the age of 70 and can cause temporary swelling or discomfort.

In recent months, the President has addressed various public rumors about his health, assuring supporters and reporters that he feels well. “Never felt better in my life,” he wrote on social media earlier this year.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the President added with characteristic humor, “Good heart. A good soul. Very good soul. I took a cognitive test — and I got every answer right.”

The White House has confirmed that President Trump returned safely following his medical checkup and will continue his official duties as planned.
